The largest national park in Kenya is perceived to be Masai Mara National Reserve. However, this is not true. When it comes to size the largest national park in Kenya is Tsavo National Park. Masai Mara is about 1500km2 while Tsavo National Park is 22,000km2.
The problem though is that Tsavo National Park is split into 2; Tsavo East and Tsavo West. This was a necessity when the railway was being built early in the colonial period.
Also, Masai Mara seems smaller but when combined with the Serengeti National Park the total ecosystem is about 25,000km2 So it all depends on the way you look at it.
The Masai Mara is located in Kenya while Serengeti borders it in Tanzania.
